Residents At Sunrise of Mobberley Care Home Receive Second COVID-19 Vaccines

Residents at Sunrise of Mobberley care home have received their second doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine against COVID-19.

On 31st March, the care home welcomed back Dr Nicola Herd and her team from the Annandale Health Centre to deliver the final dose of the vaccine to all of the care home’s 90 residents. Over 90% of team members at the care home have now also received their second dose of the highly effective vaccine, with the care home now cautiously looking to move beyond the pandemic.

Speaking of all residents at Sunrise of Mobberley now being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Lisa Burrows, the General Manager of the care home, said:

“Today marks a significant milestone as 100% of our residents and over 90% of team members have now received their second vaccination dose. We understand that this is not a time to be complacent, but see this as a moment to take one step closer to returning to normality. I am also very grateful to our amazing team for the work they have undertaken over this past year.

“All residents and team members at Sunrise of Mobberley extend a huge thank you to Dr Nicola Herd and the vaccination team at Annandale Health Centre, who have compassionately administered both the first and second doses of vaccines to our residents and team members.”

Esther Denham, a resident at the care home and a retired Veterinary Surgeon, said:

“Straight after the first vaccine I felt absolutely fine, and we are very grateful to receive the second vaccine and I and my fellow residents had no hesitation in having both doses. We are also very pleased and encouraged by the UK Government figures on protection after the second injection, and very much look forward to a bright and safe future.”
