Sunrise Senior Living UK has been revealed as finalists for four categories at this year’s Care Home Awards.
The luxury care home provider has been named on the shortlists for the ‘Best Response to COVID-19’, ‘Best for Recruitment, Motivation and Staff Retention, ‘Best Mid-size Care Home Group’, and ‘Best for Nutrition, Food or Dining Experience’ awards.
Sunrise UK picked up the shortlistings in recognition of their exceptional efforts throughout 2020 across each of their 25 care homes and within their Support Office.
Over the course of 2020, the care home provider delivered a highly effective response to the unprecedented challenge created by the COVID-19 pandemic, driven by a commitment to protect the physical and emotional wellbeing of all their residents and team members. Sunrise also implemented a range of innovative measures and initiatives, such as establishing a COVID-19 Task Force to lead the organisations’ efforts to manage the pandemic.
The remarkable work of Sunrise’s Recruitment and HR team have also received recognition in their shortlisting for the ‘Best for Recruitment, Motivation and Staff Retention’ category. The team secured their place on the shortlist following their effective response to the pandemic while also introducing numerous improvements to the way that the organisations’ source and recruit high quality team members. Their work also ensured that residents at Sunrise continued to receive industry leading care during an extraordinary time for the social care sector. And, despite the challenging context, the team also enabled significant improvements to team member turnover and retention.
Alongside these efforts, Sunrise also made great strides in enhancing and improving their food, nutrition and dining offering. Judges at the Care Home Awards were impressed by the actions of the team throughout 2020, which not only helped their 25 care homes to navigate the pandemic, but ensured that the organisation maintained its reputation as an industry leader.
The care home provider will discover if they have been successful in their categories during the awards ceremony set to take place on 10th September at Grosvenor House in London.
Speaking of their quadruple shortlisting, Dr Natalie-Jane Macdonald MBE, UK CEO of Sunrise, said:
“Our mission is to enable all of our residents and team members to live purposeful and fulfilling lives and this quadruple shortlisting is a celebration of our success in achieving this ambition. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the inspiring work of our care homes and support office ensured that we continued to deliver exceptional care to all of our residents, even during immensely testing circumstances. And, by receiving these shortlistings across a variety of areas, from recruitment to nutrition, we’ve cemented our reputation as industry leaders.”
