Su Gallagher, General Manager
I was Manager of a nursing home when I was 27. Quality care and quality of life for our residents is my passion and commitment. I have loved working at Sunrise Tettenhall from day one, we have some amazing residents and staff. I am a qualified nurse and also managed a very busy A&E department in a local hospital.
Akhi Coswami, Deputy Manager
I joined Sunrise of Tettenhall as a Deputy Manager in Sep 2020. I am a qualified Nurse by profession and I am really passionate about caring for the elderly. Before joining Sunrise I worked in an another care home within the company since August 2015. Prior to joining Sunrise I enjoyed working in an NHS Hospital in London where I gained my Level6 Mentorship Qualification in Healthcare Practice. I have also achieved my level 5 in Leadership and Management qualification in Health and Social Care in 2019. Originally I gained my Nursing qualification in India back in 2006 and worked there in a cardiac ICU for few years. I believe that there is nothing more rewarding than to be able to care for people in need during the later stages of their lives. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and playing cricket.

I have worked within the company since March 2017 and joined our fantastic Tettenhall team in December 2020. For dementia, it's extremely important we understand the journey the residents are taking, ensuring we meet their specialist needs.
I strongly believe we can bring joy and fun back into their lives, so our aim is to give them happy experiences and involve their family and friends where possible – retaining independence and supporting their needs.

I joined Sunrise in January 2012 and brought passion, fun and an infectious personality with me. I have been patient services team leader in Bridgnorth and an activities co-ordinator for another group of homes. My aim is to make a difference to each residents day and nothing makes me happier than when I see resident's smiling, happy and can hear laughter.

I joined Sunrise in 2017 and am proud to be a member of the management team at Tettenhall. I am CIPD qualified and I am the first point of contact for all HR and financial queries. I also provide additional support to the management team at both local and regional level. The team at Sunrise pride themselves on providing the best care possible to the Residents, which is why I love being part of such a wonderful caring team.

I have served this wonderful community since 2006 and my aim is to ensure that customer service reflects the 'old-fashioned' service which our seniors are used to from years gone by. My career originates from the hotel industry where I spent many years as a functions manager/Wedding Coordinator. Customer service is crucial to these services. Front of house here at Tettenhall provides a central point for residents to visit if they need simply pointing in the right direction or to book a hair or chiropody appointment. Residents also stop by for a general chat or even sit at the desk and help with some duties which gives great purpose. I have a team of lovely well trained concierge to ensure the desk is manned each day from 8am – 8pm. We offer a secure environment and are stationed near the main door to ensure all visitors are greeted and looked after to a high standard. We promise to continue high end customer service throughout. Sarah-Jane Melling, Therapy Assistant
I am the therapy assistant at Sunrise of Tettenhall, my role is to provide Cognitive stimulation therapy, Reminiscence therapy and Namaste care to individuals with moderate to late stage dementia to maintain good wellbeing. CST is delivered in closed groups of up to 6 residents, twice weekly, for an initial period of 14 weeks and then once weekly maintenance afterwards. Reminiscence therapy is delivered once weekly in small closed groups and its aim is to help individuals with dementia remember events, people and places from their past lives. This is done by utilising all the senses – sight, touch, taste, smell and sound.

What advice would you give to a new resident? “In the beginning, have patience. It will take time to settle in.”

What advice would you give to a new resident? “You will be happy here. Everything is provided for – food, drink, laundry – all great.”
